Spring balance
In 1660, the famous English scientist Robert Hooke formulated the law according to which the deformation that appears in an elastic body is proportional to the force applied to it. This statement formed the basis of the spring balance, and the drawing of the dynamometer published by Hooke was in fact the prototype of the simplest spring balance.
