Vintage torsion balance
Torsion balances are designed for fast and accurate weighing of small loads up to 500 mg. The sensitive element of such balances is a spiral spring or elastic thread.
Determination of the load mass is carried out in the course of the spring twist while weighing, with the angle of the spring twist being proportional to the mass of the load.
