Vintage trade scales
Scales have been used in trade since time immemorial. For weighing of goods in the shops and on the markets, simple equal-arm balances were used along with scalebeams.
On the basis thereof, over time, more advanced models of table scales appeared: various spring, platform scales, scales with a quadrant mechanism, and many others.
All of them were distinguished by relatively small sizes, and were easily placed on the counter.
Photographs of vintage trade scales are presented on this page.
