A weight is an object of a specified mass that is used for weighing of loads. Historically, weights appeared as a result of trade development in Egypt and Mesopotamia several thousand years ago. People used round stones as the first weights. Then later the weights were made of bronze, lead, cast iron, glass, porcelain. Antique weights differ in weight, shape, accuracy class, scope of application and place of its manufacture.
